Trussville Real Estate Market Update for August 2014

 As the end of the summer draws closer, what better time than now to give you an update on what buyers and sellers are going through in our current real estate market.

 It's a great time in the market right now, for everybody. We are seeing sellers get more money for their homes than they have in the last couple of years and they've been able to sell them quicker than they have in the past, with homes only staying on the market for an average of 28 days.

The sellers aren't the only ones cashing in on this market. We are also seeing buyers get really good deals on homes as well. People always want to classify the market as either a "Buyer's market" or a "Seller's market" but we would venture to say that this market leans more towards a neutral market, with both buyers and sellers profiting and getting what they need in this market.

A few more tidbits for buyers and sellers:
  • We are seeing a lot of multiple offer situations, which is always good for the seller
  • Inventory is low overall, but extremely low in certain areas and we have a lot of buyers looking right now for new homes
  • Interest rates are in the low 4%'s right now, but they are expected to rise in the short term. It's a great time to lock in a rate right now.
